Inspired by Boucheron’s Quatre ring 20th anniversary campaign creation, as well as French chainmail.
I wanted to create something unique, and design/make forms and motifs that not only hug the body with the weight of the metal, but with the destination driven motifs of the coinage representing cherished memories. Each coin tells a story about a different part of Provence and Lyon that Ive been to.
Currency, like memories can be quite powerful in their portability, intentionality, function in everyday life, and sometimes inheritance. Even in present day, people are still discovering its ancient forms and preserving them, like unearthing a powerful memory, it may mature and change forms, but it never loses its intention and function.
