As a self-described "history buff," I recognized that this project was the perfect opportunity to focus on two interconnected concepts: the fall of the monarchy through ill-gotten gains and the disintegration of magnificent gardens—symbols of wealth and power—when there is no one left to care for them. The piece is an exploration of the fragility of both societal structures and natural beauty.
The mood boards created for this project reflect the dual themes of decay and opulence, highlighting the textures that evoke both the splendor of royal gardens and the subsequent crumbling of these once-great estates. The careful selection of enamel colors serves as a visual metaphor for this decline, with hues that range from vibrant life to faded, weathered tones.
The process of creating this piece involved a combination of modern and traditional techniques. From 3D modeling to printing, casting, and enameling, this project required multiple prototypes and samples to refine the final design. Despite the challenges, through hard work and persistence, I was able to produce two meaningful pinky rings, each capturing the essence of the narrative while also embodying the tactile quality of both time and beauty lost.
