La Pierre de Bonnieux

With this project I aim to create a tapestry that measures 40" by 50" inches and resembles a natural wonder of Bonnieux (near Lacoste) in multiple forms of weaving, such as Monks Belt, Tabby Weave, and supplemental Rya-knots.

The background will be done in Lavender yarn from Sugar and Creme, as it’s strong and provides structure for the other weaving techniques, the Rock formation itself has a white 5/2 cotton tabby weave, and a thicker grey Monks belt yarn. The vegetation will come from various other yarns ranging in structure, color and size to create further visual, and tactile appeal.

My target market is for interiors, and anyone who would want a visual reminder of a special place from their travels. With the design I feel that Millennials and Gen-Z would gravitate towards this design in particular.
