Echos of Thailand
Project type
Screenprinted Textile
Date
January 2025
Description:
This shirt serves as a commemoration of my trip to Thailand, specifically to the cities of Bangkok and Chiang Mai. The design of the shirt incorporates two different temple complexes, one from Bangkok and one from Chiang Mai. I chose this subject matter as history and sightseeing are two things that matter immensely to me. Not only that, but visiting temples was a very big part of the trip. The text on the side of the shirt translates to "view point" to signify the amount of different kinds of structures, environments, and experiences that went on during my trip.
Target Market:
Art and design-oriented apparel consumers, typically in their early 20s to late 30s, often approach clothing as a form of visual expression. They work in creative fields like design, photography, and the arts, and are drawn to graphic apparel that prioritizes composition, layering, and concept over overt branding or trend-driven aesthetics. This particular garment features two temple structures, rendered through the screenprinting process, which introduce depth, memory, and place. The restrained palette and architectural subject matter position the piece within a refined, art-informed category of casual wear, appealing to consumers who value subtlety, narrative, and process in their clothing choices.
